The LTA opened its first Consumer Support Center outside Monrovia in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, on 4 September 2026. Residents can now report unresolved complaints about their mobile operators, such as poor network quality, internet outages and billing disputes, and learn about their rights without travelling to the capital.
LTA Chairman Clarence K. Massaquoi presented the centre as part of the government’s drive to bring services closer to citizens. He said the LTA hopes to open a permanent regional office in Grand Bassa, and plans more centres this year in Bong and River Gee counties. Commissioner Patrick R. Honnah encouraged residents to use it whenever they have a problem with a provider.
County Superintendent Karyou Johnson said the centre will save residents long journeys and could create jobs. Robert Barrolle, speaking for Grand Bassa’s disabled community, asked operators to do more to detect and stop scams.
